The Penelope Tree isn't just another 'indie night'.. We "Hatty and Chimes", started it because we wanted to hear the music we play at home when we went out, and nowhere was doing that. So many times we'd hear one great track only to have to wait an hour for the next one! We used to think "Ooh, if only we had our records here". So we started TPT and now the greatest compliment we get is to be told, "I never thought I'd hear that at a club night!". Whether that's about lo-fi, new wave post-punk, oddments from Chimes or 60's pop, girl garage, or French pop from Hatty, that's what TPT is all about! Yes, you may sometimes hear "Suedehead" by Morrissey, but you're just as likely to hear "Everyday is like Sunday" or "Handsome Devil" .. yes, we play Orange Juice, but we also play Josef K and other cruelly ignored acts. You get the picture? Good.

TPT plays;
New Wave*Rough Trade*Electronica*Northern Soul*60's pop, garage and French*Scottish indie and twee, like...Belle and Sebastian*Josef K*Felt*Dexys*Marine Girls*The Projects*The Passions*The Smiths*The The*Microdisney*Comet Gain*Morrissey*Bloc Party*Ballboy*Hidden Cameras*St Etienne*Aberfeldy*Durutti Column*Delta 5..and so on....
